TO OUR VALUED CLIENTS

COVID-19: 21-DAY LOCKDOWN

Following the announcement from our President of a 21-day lockdown commencing at midnight, 26 March 2020, we advise as follows:

  • The deeds office closed on 26 March 2020, until further notice.

  • Our Attorneys did not lodge documents during LOCK DOWN week as those matters would not be registered and the risk that documents can be lost in the deed’s office during the 21-day lockdown is too high.

  • The town councils are closed as of 26 March 2020, and the Transferring Attorneys will not be able to obtain further clearance figures.

  • The banks have notified us that new bond approvals will not be instructed during this period and no cancellation figures will be issued to Attorneys.

  • All four major banks have indicated they allow new Applications for approvals, however considering they are on skeleton staff and Senior Credit Managers approving from home-based offices, expect a delay on the approval process.

  • Our office switchboard number will not be manned during this period, please call/Whatsapp or email your Agents directly.

For urgent matters please email Christiaan as per email address below.

Please be safe and adhere to all restrictions.

We will attend to normal business after the 21-day lockdown period, or as per Government’s further advice.
